From Carleton Place Ontario Canada: My journey with osteoporosis began at an age when most people aren’t thinking about bone health. Diagnosed with severe osteoporosis in my early twenties, after years of unexplained fractures and falls, I quickly realized that resources and support for young people with this condition were incredibly limited. Like many, I struggled to access treatment; I traveled to the Mayo Clinic for specialized care, navigating a health system that often overlooks younger patients with osteoporosis. I’ve experienced firsthand the financial and emotional hurdles involved and know how isolating it can feel to face a diagnosis that’s commonly associated with older adults.
